WASHINGTON, DC – September 13, 2022 – The Global Entrepreneurship Network announced that Kali Norman has joined the organization as the Outreach and Program Manager, where she will play a leading role in managing speakers, delegates, partners and programming for the 2023 Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) in Melbourne, Australia. Norman began the assignment on September 1.
The annual Congress, hosted in a different emerging entrepreneurial city each year, brings startup champions together from 200 countries. In 2023, it will explore the intersection of global economic, social and technological trends through the lenses of entrepreneurs and those who support them.
“Kali Norman has extensive knowledge of the innovation and startup ecosystem, with the ability to think big to connect local, national and global players,” said GEN president Jonathan Ortmans. “We are proud to be working with her on the upcoming Congress.”
Norman joins GEN after working with West Tech Fest, Western Australia's premier tech festival connecting the local startup ecosystem with global thought leaders. She also served six years at Spacecubed, a co-working and incubator space with multiple locations in Western Australia, where she was involved in a range of projects ranging from sales and partnerships, to community building and regional economic development. She also brings two years of content curation and programming support experience as a prior board member for the Emergence Creative Festival, an annual conference in Western Australia that explores connection through creativity.
“Joining the GEN team is an incredible opportunity to bring together the global entrepreneur ecosystem for a once-in-a-lifetime event in Melbourne 2023,” said Norman. “I'm so excited to be a part of this team, and very fortunate to have the chance to work on a project that will deliver long-lasting impact to both the APAC region and the global entrepreneurship community."
In addition to her work in the startup and festival space, Norman volunteered for four years as the Project Manager overseeing logistics for TEDxPerth, the second largest TEDx event in Australia.
