The Big Idea Competition is Back at the University of Dallas
One of the most anticipated events of Global Entrepreneurship Week is back for another rendition of The Big Idea Competition (BIC).
4 Oct 2021

The Big Idea Competition (BIC) is back for GEW 2021. Hosted annually by the UT Dallas Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the BIC brings the best undergraduate and graduate students together from all disciplines, alongside top research faculty and alumni to pitch the most innovative startups and ideas in front of their peers and a panel of esteemed judges for cash and scholarship awards.

With over 1,000 attendees each year, BIC is one of the biggest and most anticipated events of the year. With $100,000+ in cash prizes and scholarships, the competition has the ability to catapult winners to scaling their ventures. Past winners have gone on to win other state or national competitions and formed companies that have raised venture capital, generated revenue and created jobs.

The 2021 competition will offer four tracks: Student, Alumni, Research Commercialization, and UTSW Biotech+. The competition will take place November 2 and 3 with the awards ceremony on November 9, 2021 taking place during Global Entrepreneurship Week. The awards ceremony will feature a keynote from Ross Perot Jr, celebrate UT Dallas and UTSW entrepreneurs and recognize the winners of each track.

Attendees can participate in person at UT Dallas or watch the event live stream.
