Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) USA works to gather entrepreneurs across the country – bringing new audiences together and strengthening the connections of local ecosystems everywhere.

With this year's celebration on the horizon (Nov. 8-14, 2021), the GEW USA team will share a weekly roundup of some of the amazing activities and events being planned and happening across the United States. 

Through the GEW Weekly Roundup, you will find a collection of 'global picks' that explore each of the four themes for this year's celebration: EducationEcosystemsPolicy and Inclusion. Take a look at the recent press coverage. 

  • GEW Event Series Set for 7-day, Hybrid Return 
    (Startland News // Kansas City, USA)
    GEW Kansas City, the metro’s largest annual celebration of entrepreneurship, is seeking event submissions from the community to help aspiring entrepreneurs and existing small business owners build their operations and be more resilient for the future. They are looking for prospective event hosts to submit events in five “tracks”: Startups, Scalers, Social Enterprise, Youth Entrepreneurship, and Inclusion and Entrepreneurship.

  • GEW Highlights Entrepreneurial Ecosystems Around the World

    Every year during Global Entrepreneurship Week, the U.S. Department of State celebrates entrepreneurship and innovative solutions to local challenges around the world. Last November, U.S. embassies engaged with policy makers, industry experts, innovators and entrepreneurs in support of GEW and its mission to fuel economic growth and strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems. GEW events demonstrated how entrepreneurship is integral to advancing U.S. social, political and security priorities while enhancing American and global prosperity. 

  • Are You an Investor? Get Ready for the Going Public Series

    Going Public is a new interactive television series GEN is partnering on where you can 'Click-to-Invest' in featured deals while you watch. At the very center of what GEW represents is helping entrepreneurs unleash their ideas to grow their startups; so tune in with the GEW team while episodes air during Global Entrepreneurship Week.
  • The Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame
    (New Mexico State University // New Mexico, USA)
    NMSU is looking for nominations for 'The Entrepreneur Hall of Fame,' an initiative to honor graduates who have launched successful businesses, introduced innovative entrepreneurial concepts and practices into workplaces and/or who have contributed to the entrepreneurial climates of their regions. Winner to be announced during GEW 2021.

  • Business Pitch Competition Offers $20k Grand Prize
    (KSHB News // Kansas City, USA)
    This year, cities around the world are offering large cash prizes to support and give incentive to GEW competitors. As part of GEW 2021, Kansas City is hosting the "AltCap Your Biz: Pitch Competition," open to entrepreneurs or owners of an existing business with annual revenue of $250,000 or less or entrepreneurs with a business idea ready to start operation within six months of the competition.

  • Glenna Gonzalez Has Been Designated as the Community Organizer in Morrisville NC for GEW
    (FOX 40 // Morrisville, NC)
    Glenna Gonzalez, CEO and CMO of JB Tyler Marketing & Consulting will celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week by hosting several activities along with other Morrisville, NC and Durham, NC community leaders. Glenna Gonzalez feels that garnering participation for this event will be an opportunity to encourage and support struggling startups and small business owners as they continue to discover effective business strategies for growth and sustainability.

  • Multicultural Business Coalition as Missouri State Coordinator for GEW
    (Multicultural Business Coalition // Missouri, USA)
    The Multicultural Business Coalition is working with GEN for the second year as the Missouri State Coordinator of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The state coordinators tapped by GEN USA encourage hundreds of organizations throughout their state to plan and conduct activities during GEW USA.
