Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) works to gather entrepreneurs around the world – bringing new audiences together and strengthening the connections of local ecosystems everywhere.

GEW 2021 will take place in more than 180 countries with over 20,000 partners, 40,000 activities and 10 million people worldwide. With this year's celebration on the horizon (Nov. 8-14, 2021), the GEW team will be sharing a weekly roundup of some of the amazing activities and events that are being planned and happening throughout GEW on every continent.

Through the GEW Weekly Roundup, you will find a collection of 'global picks' that explore each of the four themes for this year's celebration: EducationEcosystemsPolicy and Inclusion. Below is a look at a handful of recent press coverage. 

  • Piers Linney Appointed First Ever GEN UK Ambassador

    GEN UK will work with Piers to garner in-kind and financial support and collaboration from prospective partner organizations to help enable its capacity to create positive impact through its events and activities such as Global Entrepreneurship Week.

  • BEDC’s Global Entrepreneurship Week Events
    (Bermuda News // Bermuda)
    The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation is gearing up for GEW 2021. BEDC has celebrated GEW since its inception with the goal of inspiring people to make their business ideas a reality and celebrate those that have already started on that journey. This year's theme is Perseverance.

  • GEW Palestine Organizers Work to Spread Awareness of the Celebration

    GEW Palestine targets young entrepreneurs, owners of startups, government and private sector employees, students and administrators and all those who are interested in expanding their entrepreneurial vision, to get involved in Global Entrepreneurship Week. Organizers of the week hope to support startups by creating the best possible environment to promote entrepreneurship and the success of small and medium sized enterprises.

    BizBob highlights young entrepreneurs around the world—from the Caribbean to Hong Kong to Afghanistan—who have gone on to establish profitable companies, as nations everywhere look toward Global Entrepreneurship Week. 

  • MEA Start Up and Innovate Competition to Coincide with GEW
    (Mid and East Antrim Government // UK)
    The Mid and East Antrim Borough Council are holding a competition to identify and recognize innovation exhibited by early stage micro-enterprises within the Borough. Entrants must be able and available to participate in the online pitching session in November that will coincide with Global Entrepreneurship Week 2021.

  • Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences Releases GEW 2021 Schedule of Events

    AUAS' GEW 2021 program focuses on entrepreneurship with creative solutions and sustainable innovations. The university will be hosting workshops such as Meet the Founders, SDG's + Entrepreneurship, Introduction in Venture Capital and more.

    GEN caught up with Marina Lita of GEN Moldova, the national host for Global Entrepreneurship Week in Moldova to learn about the activities planned across the country, the collaboration taking place to make it all possible, and goals for the 2021 campaign.

  • Odense to Hold its Largest Entrepreneurship Festival in November

    Odense prepares for their largest and most ambitious GEW celebration yet. The 2021 edition of Odense’s Global Entrepreneurship Week seeks to not only celebrate current business owners but also to create opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs to receive guidance from and make connections with others.

  • GEN Namibia to Celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week

    Johanna Cloete, the GEW National Host in Namibia recently announced the Namibian Business Hall of Fame induction ceremony to take place during Global Entrepreneurship Week.
