The Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025 officially commenced today at Amar Telidji University of Laghouat, marking the beginning of a full week dedicated to innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial development. The opening ceremony brought together students, faculty members, institutional representatives, and local startup founders to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the entrepreneurial landscape in Algeria.

The day began with a formal introduction of the week’s theme, “Together We Build – Solve Problems, Create Jobs, Shape Futures,” reflecting the initiative’s purpose of encouraging young people to engage actively with the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Attendees were welcomed into an environment designed to inspire new ideas and forge partnerships between academia, support institutions, and emerging businesses.

The opening session featured five keynote talks, each offering a different perspective on entrepreneurship:

CDE Manager: Presented an overview of the role of business development centers in supporting project holders, with emphasis on mentorship, pre-incubation services, and the importance of market validation.
University Business Incubator Manager: Highlighted the services available to students and researchers within the university, including incubation programs, project coaching, and access to resources that help transform ideas into viable startups.
NESDA Manager: Shared insights into national strategies that promote innovation and economic diversification, outlining the financial and structural support available to young entrepreneurs.
Business Faculty Member: Provided an academic lens on entrepreneurship, discussing current trends, soft skills required in evolving markets, and the value of integrating entrepreneurial thinking across all fields of study.
Laghouat Startup Representatives: Offered real-world testimonies on their entrepreneurial journeys, explaining the challenges they faced, the support they received from local institutions, and how perseverance and creativity shaped their progress.

Throughout the event, attendees gained a clear understanding of the support mechanisms available to them and learned practical steps for moving from idea to execution. The diverse perspectives helped clarify the entrepreneurial workflow—from problem identification and project design to funding, incubation, and market entry.

By the end of the opening day, participants walked away with:
– A stronger awareness of the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem
– Insights into available support structures from institutional partners
– Inspiration from real success stories within Laghouat’s startup community
– A roadmap for engaging in the week’s upcoming workshops, training sessions, and thematic talks
