“Intellectual Property Fundamentals for Startup Projects”
was organized and delivered by Dr. Maysoum Maryem via Google Meet.

The session targeted the Incubator’s scientific committee as well as students registered with project ideas, aiming to equip them with essential knowledge on safeguarding their innovations.

The workshop covered key themes, including:

  • Definition and types of intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs…).
  • How to protect ideas from imitation or unauthorized use.
  • Practical steps for registering patents or trademarks in Algeria.
  • Common mistakes entrepreneurs make when launching projects.
  • Real examples of successful innovation protection cases.

The training also featured interactive discussions between the scientific committee and the students, with direct guidance on how to legally secure the rights of projects registered within the incubator.

The workshop contributed significantly to raising awareness on the importance of intellectual property as a foundational step before entering the market or seeking funding and incubation.
