As part of the training program of the Business Incubator at the University Center of Illizi, and within the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025, a virtual training workshop was organized and delivered by Prof. Abdelatif Belguerssa from Badji Mokhtar University – Annaba, titled:
“Common Challenges in Launching Startups: Lessons to Avoid Mistakes.”

Prof. Belguerssa addressed the key issues frequently faced by young entrepreneurs when launching their startups, offering deep insights into essential points such as:

  • Lack of proper market research prior to launch
  • Weak definition of the project’s value proposition
  • Challenges in forming an effective entrepreneurial team
  • Financial obstacles and inefficient resource management
  • Poor strategic planning and absence of a clear business model
  • Branding and communication mistakes
  • Difficulties in early-stage marketing
  • Misjudgment of risks and decisions based on assumptions rather than data

He also presented practical lessons derived from real-world experiences, offering actionable guidance to help aspiring entrepreneurs avoid common pitfalls when building their startups.

The session witnessed strong virtual participation through Google Meet, with active engagement and thoughtful questions from attendees.
