GEW Algeria 2016 celebrates agriculture and new technologies The focus of this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week in Algeria was about Agriculture and New technologies , but it also celebrated Women and students.
The opening ceremony of the global entrepreneurship week « GEW » Algeria 2016 , organized by GEN Algeria, in the theme of agriculture and new technologies was held on November 14 at El AURASSI Hotel in algiers from 9 AM to 4 PM . During the opening ceremony the representative of the minister of agriculture gave a word about the importance of entrepreneurship in this field and how all the gouvernent and farmer entrepreneurs should work together to put rising economies on the path to prosperity.
The US Ambassador, UK ambassador and south africa’s Ambassador also gave a word about GEW and the awareness of this year’s theme. The representative of FCE and the president of GEN Algeria Fatiha Rachedi gave an inspiring talk about entrepreneurship ,intrapreneurship and how youth contribute into its success .they made the audiance understand that the entrepreneurial spirit empowers people to come together to tackle our most pressing problems, from climate change to poverty.
The event had three different panels from agricultural technologies and innovation to agro-industry and how to make a successful agricultural company , they were moderated and presented by national and international experts like Jason ARAMBURU . The opening ceremony was really inspiring and knew the presence of more than 800 guests from CEO’s , entrepreneurs , students and experts. GEN Algeria is collaborating across the public, private, and civil society sectors to help and provide young people with demand-driven, sustainable, and high quality projects that support their entry into the workforce and foster tangible improvements to their local communities. During the same week , GEN Algeria celebrated Women entrepreneurs with the WED «Women Entrepreneurship Day » who knew the honorable presence of the minister of Woman ,Solidarity and family . this day provided women across the country with the opportunity to share their voices to encourage their female counterparts to take action and lead. Fortunately, women have the power to be a catalyst for change. Successful female entrepreneurs serve as an example for girls, housewifes and women in algeria , demonstrating that building your own business and following your dreams is possible. Meanwhile , Entrepreneurship Media Day was also celebrated on Monday November 21st at ARTISSIMO , it was a very successful day that gathered journalists , entrepreneurs and students together to exchange and inspire building businesses . journalists came up with stories that are multimedia-oriented but showed how they could freelanced them out . In addition , How to promote entrepreneurship in algeria,and what role plays journalists and media was also discussed during this day. Moreover, all the students and universities of algeria celebrated entrepreneurship together with the GEN Algeria Campus Ambassadors program .helping today’s students become tomorrow’s entrepreneurs. Many activities and competitions in and outside the campus were organized by the ambassadors and helped the students sharpen their skills ,make friends and broaden their talents. It was also a way to connect them to potential cofounders, mentors and even investors.
Through this program students learn more about entrepreneurship and benifits from all the activities but ambassadors get an opportunity to build their capabilities in project management, teamwork and leadership, and to stretch themselves in new situations that help prepare them for ongoing professional challenges.
GEN Algeria will continue to inspire other students,females and people to start their own companies and take on leadership roles.
