Algeria’s Global Entrepreneurship Week is back this year with a week-long series of events created for founders at any stage. The event takes place globally and in Algeria from November 18 to 24, 2024.
This year's GEW Algeria is under the patronage of the Ministry of Startups, and is including many governmental organisms such as NESDA, ANGEM, Algeria Venture and Auto-Entrepreneur.
The organizers are collaborating with local nonprofits, educational institutions, tech organizations, municipal governments and ecosystem leaders to offer a range of speakers, workshops and networking events.
GEW in Algeria will include hundreds of local events to help new founders and seasoned entrepreneurs connect, network and scale their businesses. This year marks Algeria's 14th GEW. There will be a mix of free in-person, virtual and hybrid events.
Many entrepreneurs in Algeria believe that "Small businesses and entrepreneurship are key to our economy in Algeria," and "Now more than ever, we need to keep Algeria in the forefront, win new prices, and support and nurture our budding entrepreneurs."
This year, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and Startups highlights, "The event is designed to foster knowledge exchange, offering entrepreneurs the opportunity to share ideas and experiences. This initiative is a key to build a strong national network that empowers entrepreneurs to overcome challenges and succeed in their ventures."
The Ministry underscores the focus on developing entrepreneurial skills among youth and students, providing them with educational and training opportunities to equip them with the tools necessary to transform their ideas into successful businesses. Furthermore, Global Entrepreneurship Week aims to showcase inspiring success stories from Algeria, creating role models for future entrepreneurs.
The grand opening of GEW Algeria will be held on November 18th at 1:00 PM at the prestigious International Conference Center (CIC) in Algiers. This inaugural session is expected to set an energetic tone for the week, gathering prominent figures from the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
