Entrepreneurship ecosystems are led by those starting and growing young businesses, but local and national governments play an important role in removing barriers – updating the regulatory environment, creating programs that connect talent with appropriate resources, strengthening a startup-friendly culture and supplying resources such as finance and networks to entrepreneurs.
Global Entrepreneurship Week highlights policymakers making a conscious effort to support entrepreneurship. In 2021, GEW will also help celebrate entrepreneurs as key allies in addressing the economic aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Never before has there been a more important moment for communities to highlight the crucial role played by policymakers in supporting entrepreneurship in their ecosystems.
