The first citylevel tech startup incubator in Indonesia whose program is for young talents to launch tech startup with an impact, aim to make a difference, and valuable to society.
Start Surabaya established in 2015, and has been running for 4 batches. Start Surabaya also created a program to bring Indonesian startup to Silicon Valley to learn about the global startup ecosystem. Each batch run for 3 months, where startups are mentored to established sustainable businesses, from ideation, market validation, product development, to business model. Some of the most notable startups from Start Surabaya is Reblood (http://reblood.com/), an app that encourages and help people to donate blood that aim to solve blood shortage problem in Indonesia.
It was initiated by different stakeholders: from media, industry, government, to academics.
