From 15th -17th March 2019, Phnom Penh GEN Cambodia was one of the Knowledge Partners for Digital Cambodia 2019 held at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center. The event brings the brightest and most innovative minds in digital technology to Phnom Penh, Cambodia for three exciting days filled with thought leadership, insights, and practical solutions. Internationally renowned leaders, innovators, and visionaries from business, government and academia will gather to discuss and showcase recent trends and developments in the digital technology sphere and provide their thoughts and perspective on challenges facing the global and local information technology and communications industry.
On the first day, Oknha Sok Piseth, President of Global Entrepreneurship Network Cambodia officially launched GEN Cambodia with honored presences of H.E. Tram Iv Tek, Minister of Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and His Excellency Akka Pundit Sapheacha Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance. Dr. Susan Amat, Executive Director of GEN Accelerates and the VP for Education at the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) also flew all the way to join us on the occasion. She was a keynote speaker in the ASEAN Ministerial Forum on ICT: ASEAN Roadmap to Industry 4.0 and at the Startup stage doing the keynote speech on 'Startup Access Funding Forum'. On the second day, Oknha Sok Piseth was a Moderator during session 3: MSMEs go Digital with another 6 panelists, one of which was Mr. Sim Chankiriroth, BoD members of YEAC and also a Founder and CEO of Banhji. On the same day, Oknha Sok Piseth was also one of the speakers during session 5: Digital Manpower for Digital Era together with 7 other speakers. In addition to that, GEN Cambodia had a booth display at the Exhibition area for the entire three days welcoming more than 30,000 visitors who came to the event within three days.
The event also featured the MOU signing ceremony on Cooperation to Support Cambodia Digital Innovation Center between National Institute of Posts, Telecoms ICT; Smart Axiata Co., Ltd; Huawei Technologies (Cambodia) Co., Ltd; Sabay Digital Co., Ltd; Microsoft Cambodia, G Gear Co., Ltd; SeedStars Phnom Penh; Mekong Strategic Partners; Angkor E&C (Cambodia) Co., Ltd; Global Entrepreneurship Network Cambodia; National University of Management; French Tech Cambodge; Confluences Incubateur and Cambodia Development Resource Institute.
