At the end of January, the Policy Hack took place in Ecuador with the help of AEI, the Ministry of Environment and IICA, with the participation of representatives from the public, private and academic sectors, these relevant actors of the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem met to discuss the challenges of the one of the bioeconomy and bio-entrepreneurship in Ecuador in work tables. The purpose was to delineate strategies and actions to attack these challenges.
This dialogue space ended successfully and we are currently awaiting the following steps:
- On February 15th IICA will officially deliver to the Ministry of Environment (MAE) the technical document with the public policy guidelines on Bioeconomics.
- The Ministry of Environment has to submit it to the institutional process to release it as a public policy. Subsequently, it will be the consolidation of the bioeconomy network and the implementation of the policy, for which IICA will focus on two territories.
