The Iran Entrepreneurship Association, a non-profit, non-governmental institute is coordinatingGlobal Entrepreneurship Week in Iran for the first time this year.
Having organized the first Startup Weekend in Tehran a year ago, the Iran Entrepreneurship Association initiated and helped local community leaders in six cities to run Startup Weekend in their cities for Global Entrepreneurship Week this year.
Mohsen Malayeri, vice president from IEA states that entrepreneurship is fairly new in Iran and a new era is starting with the new government. He and his partners are looking forward to building the ecosystem further in the near feature.
"We built a partner network of 12 organizations including universities, NGOs, institutes to organize events during this week and the numbers are increasing” he says. "Iran’s Global Entrepreneurship Week activities have already expanded to seven cities."
The country is also taking part in two featured events of Global Entrepreneurship Week this year: Global Startup Battle & Startup Cup. Global Startup Battle will be organized in 4 cities of Iran simultaneously: Tehran, Isfahan, Mashhad and Tabriz.
