Swedbank has become a partner of Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and will host Global Entrepreneurship Week (November 16 – 22) in Latvia. Global Entrepreneurship Week is a massive international movement being celebrated in 180 countries to empower entrepreneurs and highlighting their role as the largest creators of jobs, innovators and promoters of economic growth and human well-being. During this week Business Experience Days will take place in Latvia with the aim to promote the knowledge exchange of entrepreneurs for business development, organized by Swedbank and its partners.

“We are truly pleased that Latvia is celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week this year and we have become a partner of the Global Entrepreneurship Network in Latvia. Experience is a treasure in business, so during the Global Entrepreneurship Week this year Swedbank together with its partners will organize Business Experience Days for the third time in a row, giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet, this time in digital format, and share experiences, which is especially important during the current time of change,” says Lauris Mencis, Head of the Corporate Customer Division at Swedbank Latvia.

“The pandemic of 2020 was tailor-made for a global response, but never got one. National boundaries are as porous to innovation as they are to viruses and Global Entrepreneurship Week challenges the citizens of Latvia and every other nation to work together in building back our economies, stronger than ever. Thanks to our partners at Swedbank, we hope to make it possible for all Latvians to start and scale a new company,” marks Jonathan Ortmans, Founder and President of the Global Entrepreneurship Network.

Business Experience Days - this year digitally

Business Experience Days will take place for the third time in Latvia during Global Entrepreneurship Week from 16 to 20 November. It is an experience exchange initiative to promote the exchange of knowledge between entrepreneurs and organizations for more successful business development in Latvia. This year Swedbank, together with partners Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and ALTUM invites participants to exchange experience and actively participate, meeting each other virtually, using digital platforms. Also, during this week, several discussions will be held with experts and entrepreneurs about how to better adapt to the new conditions, how to cooperate and negotiate remotely, how to grow and develop despite the situation in the world, conquering international markets. Everyone will be able to follow the presentations and discussions on Swedbank Latvia Facebook page.

Jānis Endziņš, Chairman of the LCCI Board: “One of the priorities of Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is to increase the competitiveness of entrepreneurs, by helping with knowledge and experience exchange. Business Experience Days project perfectly fulfils our goal of increasing competitiveness, as entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to see how other companies work and solve problems daily, getting to know their experience and success stories.”

Reinis Bērziņš, ALTUM chairman of the Board: “Due to the virus pandemic and the various influences of it, this year is likely to be unforgettable for everyone, both business owners and employees. We are glad to see that business has not stopped due to the virus – entrepreneurs continue to be active at full capacity in ALTUM programs. We are happy to join Swedbank Business Experience Days again this year, as we are convinced that in these atypical circumstances the opportunity for entrepreneurs to exchange experience is even more important than usual. ALTUM will also share its experience during this year’s Business Experience Days on various solutions for overcoming the crisis caused by the virus and for developing business through state support programs.”

This year not only business owners, but also employees of companies, representatives of state institutions and non-governmental organizations, as well as faculty members related to the field of entrepreneurship are invited to participate in the initiative.
