Organizations are attracted to base their operations in Fort Lauderdale and Broward County, because the population here is highly educated, entrepreneurial and a large percentage of the workforce is multilingual. People travel for work and pleasure from Palm Beach County through Fort Lauderdale to Miami-Dade County regularly. Fort Lauderdale is often recognized as “The South Florida TechGateway” to Latin America especially when Microsoft’s Latin America regional headquarters were based here. IBM PC was developed in Boca Raton (the 1980s) and Motorola phone company was in Plantation where Magic Leap later occupied the space. Modernizing Medicine is based in Boca Raton, which is an electronic medical records and data company. List of tech companies also include e-Builder in Plantation; Citrix Systems, and Ultimate Software is headquartered in Weston; in Greater Fort Lauderdale with branch offices in Georgia, California Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

Many workshops and projects were planned for summer on global entrepreneurship, virtual reality and a health-tech hack-a-thon for under 30 in Miami when COVID-19 suddenly shutdown international borders and public spaces. My students and business partners patiently waited for the pandemic to end initially but we are now living with it for more than seven months! We are building a reliable and engaging online infrastructure that connects us to even the emerging markets in rural areas to empower entrepreneurship programs and training new professionals.

I am the founder and CEO of InMARG Entrepreneurs Global Connect, and I am serving as the GEW community organizer for Fort Launderdale. This year GEW Fort Lauderdale is highlighting South Florida entrepreneurs and global entrepreneurs who are engaged in scaling and building exciting innovations during global pandemic situation.

GEW Fort Lauderdale invites you to participate in discussions on how the pandemic has changed the narrative for everyone and expanding our horizons through virtual platforms – whether that be telemedicine to door delivery for everything possible. It has affected our business and lifestyle with virtual hugs; which one day we will feel with our sense of touch with wearable haptic technology which XRDI will present.

What lessons were learned about how resilience and positive thinking helped to pivot and successfully adapt to the new norm?

Participate in our expert skillset workshops and discussions with instructors from Florida, New York, Italy and India. Global entrepreneurs who will share their knowledge and expertise with you on extended reality, digital marketing, entertainment, creative interactive arts and healthcare with lady physicians (as entrepreneurs). All extending their audience reach from local Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Palm Beach to a global platform. Maybe you will discover a CTO or a partner engaged in dynamic virtual reality projects and artificial intelligence (GANN) in our workshops. Discussions extended reality to include solutions and create new ideas and pathways to resolve challenges in education, marketing, and healthcare. Watch out for the following webinars:

South Florida community organizers such as Palm Beach Tech, Synapse, Startup Grind, and InMARG have many activities planned this year which we have posted on the Global Entrepreneurship Week website.
