Pauly is the Manager for Startup Programs at the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), where he is responsible for running and growing GEN's key startup and investor programs. He is primarily focused on supporting and advocating for early-stage founders and investors.
He is currently the Director of the Global Business Angels Network and Startup Huddle. He also manages the GEN Starters Club community, GEN's global peer network for founders.
In support of GEN, Pauly launched Global Entrepreneurship Week Ohio in 2017, a statewide celebration of Ohio innovation and entrepreneurship. In 2020, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted declared conference-week a state-recognized celebration. The conference has attracted north of 150 speakers, 4,000 attendees, 100 startups, and 50 partners and organizations.
He is the Co-Host at Greyt Culture, a cultural organization supporting local entrepreneurs and artists in Cleveland, Ohio. He also advises companies developing VR-enabled products and services. He is a partner at BioflightVR, a virtual reality (VR) healthcare education company. The company has developed products alongside Facebook, Oculus, Ohio Medicaid, and Case Western Reserve University. He also sits on the advisory board of a local VR therapy company called Immersive Cure.
In the restaurant and hospitality industry, Pauly helped launch 2 rooftop bars and 1 high-end sustainably driven farm-to-table restaurant in Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York. He also sits on the advisory board of FS Genius, a food-service equipment training and education platform.
Pauly studied Environmental Sciences at Ohio University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kent State University, where he focused on the neuropsychology of fear and memory. He also received certifications in management from the International Society of Sustainability Professionals.
