Social Enterprise Trade Fair in Cameroon

To celebrate the GEW 2012 in Yaounde, the Youth Employment Service (YES Cameroon) is organizing a social enterprise trade fair amongst otherTo mark the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2012 in Cameroon, the Youth Employment Service (YES Cameroon) in partnership with l’Organisation d’Appui au Developpement Social (OADES) is organizing a social enterprise trade fair (NGOs, foundations, associations, community-based organisations, CIGs and junior enterprises) alongside training sessions on organizational leadership and youth entrepreneurship.

This event will run from the 12th–17th November, 2012 at the Solomon Tandeng Muna Foundation in Yaounde. Under the theme: “youth entrepreneurship; the gateway for an emerging economy”. The event which is supported by the British High Commission, the American Embassy and the International Labour Organisation in Yaounde will bring together government and diplomatic officials, business executives, civil society leaders and potential young entrepreneurs.

For three days, experts from YES Cameroon, Youth Business Cameroon, Peace Corps and the International Labour Organisation will train participants on business ideas, fundraising, business management, ICTs and business and business plan format and organizational leadership.

The Global Entrepreneurship Week is an initiative to inspire, engage and motivate young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity; to think big, to turn their ideas into reality and to make their mark. Millions of young people across six continents will join a growing movement of entrepreneurial people, to generate new ideas and to seek better ways of doing things.

It should be noted that, the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011 was officially opened by H.E Robert P. Jackson the United States Ambassador, was officially closed by H.E Bharat Joshi, British High Commissioner to Cameroon.
