The Global Network for Innovative Business
Creative Business Cup is much more than just a competition – it is a global year-round initiative that empowers entrepreneurs in the creative industries, helping them grow their business ideas, connecting them to investors and the global markets, and strengthening their innovative capabilities to the benefit of industry and society.
Creative Business Cup is a powerful program with leaders from all over the world. Since CBC is known for positive and optimistic energy (and a fair amount of startup chaos), we put together a few suggestions of the highlight the not-to-be-missed content.
1) Pull up a seat and hear from the former US Ambassador to Denmark! (and he’s a rising Netflix star)
That’s right, we are proud to welcome Copenhagen’s celebrity diplomat (and former US ambassador to Denmark), Rufus Gifford, as he kicks things off with a keynote at #CBCup2018. Here, he will share his expertise, experience and enthusiasm for innovation and creativity. It’ll get your juices flowing.
2) Get inspired by iconic entrepreneur and founder of Empower a Billion Women by 2020.
Ingrid Vanderveldt, founder of Empowering a Billion Women by 2020 Movement and DELL’s former entrepreneur-in-residence will share her expert views on succeeding as a woman entrepreneur, getting inspired and making the impossible, possible. Her story will surprise and delight you and you will walk away with a new sense of focus – and purpose.
3) Shake your money maker at #CBIPitch2018!
Attend the #CBIPitch2018, where five selected startups will pitch their ideas to global investors in front of a live audience. This is a great way to learn to fine tune your ideas and make sure that your startup is pitch perfect. This is a golden opportunity to meet investors from around the world. Maybe your idea is the next big thing? This is a great place to find out.
4) And on the big stage: Startups from 52 countries fight for the title of ”World’s Best” creative entrepreneur title!
It’s got tension. It’s got passion. It’s a tad nerve-wracking at times. But it’s always, always the most moving and impactful portion of CBC. Watch as creative startups from around the world tackle challenges, refine their pitches and, on occasion, pivot their business entirely! Join us and learn who will become winner for 2018.
5) Connect with people who matter; meet, chat, grab a coffee. #CBCup2018’s core theme this year is connections and conversations. Meet people who will make you more successful – startups, investors, entrepreneurs, media and investors.
Entrepreneurial success is our mission. We want you to walk away from CBC energized, inspired and ready to accomplish anything.
GEN Namibia’s participation.
During 2018, GEN Namibia attended the Creative Business Summit in Nairobi, Kenya organized by our counterpart. I am attaching a report that I wrote for the Hand Seidel Foundation to give an overview of what happened at the Creative Business Summit of 2018. Namibian entry was the winner.
Each country should have a competition during the year as a partner country and we are having ours during 8 March 2019.
The winner will compete with the rest of the world in Copenhagen at the end of June this year. We must have the competition this early due to visa restrictions/application to Denmark.
The morning will be a workshop and you are free to share with us the presentation that Aumesh Hurry made at the event. The afternoon, the entrants will pitch their business ideas or businesses.
