Ashoka Fellows are extraordinary changemakers. But we believe that everyone needs to become a changemaker.
We believe that everyone should be equipped with the skills that underpin social innovation. We believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to become the kind of human being who is fully equipped and inclined to change their world for the better-to thrive and help others thrive in the modern world. And we believe that the modern world demands this urgently.

The Ashoka Africa Nairobi’s Changemaker Convening is themed around Changemaker Education and Future of Work with the overarching theme being accelerating conversation on the need to transform education to support students’development as changemakers-students with requisite skills, experience and knowledge to succeed in the 21st Century and beyond either as first-class employees or leading social innovators able to innovate solutions for the myriad challenges bedeviling the world. It will be also an opportunity to connect pioneers who are leading in shifting mindsets across the education and employment ecosystems.
Objectives of the Convening:
• Engage change leaders to recognize complimentary and shared purpose in supporting every young person as a changemaker
• Agree on and refine the specific changes that must be made in the education system and employment ecosystem to support changemaking
• Organize into teams that will work together to change the mindsets of theopinion-formers and decision-makers who have most influence over these critical paths to education transformation and paradigm shifts for transforming youth unemployment and leadership
• Meet new change leaders whose ideas will help build solidarity for collaborative partnerships for higher impact to the ecosystem
