These fellowships offer rising talent the opportunity to work with leading tech-related companies, government agencies, and NGOs that promote innovation and entrepreneurship. During this session you will learn about how to apply for future Professional Fellows Programs, including the 2022 Young Transatlantic Innovation Leaders Initiative Fellowship (YTILI), the U.S. Department of State's flagship program for emerging entrepreneurs from Europe that will welcome a cohort of young European entrepreneurs from 45 European countries to participate in a year-long fellowship program in 2021-2022. In addition, you will gain insight into the benefits of working with WorldChicago and hear success stories from current fellows and alumni of the program from around the region.
Goran Stojanovski obtained his PhD in systems theory in 2013 from Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia. After finalizing his PhD, he focused on optimization of complex energy networks and spent a few years in Germany working on his post-doc research at TU Dortmund and INEOS Cologne. Currently, he is the site lead of ScaleFocus Skopje office and a leading AI expert. His recent work is focused on utilizing AI and Machine Learning to build forecasting algorithms for day-ahead and intraday trading. The tools developed by his team are utilized to forecast consumption and generation of electrical energy by several companies in the Western Balkans region.
Simona Chaminska started her career in the Office of the Prime Minister in R. N. Macedonia as Adviser for Legal Affairs. In 2017 she transferred to Makedonski Telekom, the leading telecommunications operator in the country to work on the foundation of the Startup Center. After two years, she was transferred to Global Services Organization in Deutsche Telekom IT, where she still works today as Product Owner for SAP solutions in the area of Identity Access Governance. Simona started coordinating the Global Entrepreneurship Week N. Macedonia in 2018 in partnership with Startup Macedonia Association, starting with only one event in November 2018 and having 43 events only two years later. Simona is WorldChicago Alumni Cohort 2018, with fellowship placement in World Business Chicago where she supported ThinkChicago initiative.
