Helping Entrepreneurs Build Back: Grants + A Bridge to a Post-Covid World

OVERVIEW

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, GEN and Hello Alice are partnering with KKR, a leading global investment firm, to shine a light on resources available to entrepreneurs around the world as they look to build back stronger than ever in response to the global economic slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

GEN and Hello Alice have partnered with the investment firm to create KKR Small Business Builders. The program provides $5 million in grants that are designed to help business owners sustain their enterprises, maintain or create jobs, and spur economic opportunity as they respond to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and recover from its resultant economic dislocation.

A recent survey of 100,000 entrepreneurs conducted by Hello Alice found that 83% of respondents felt optimistic that the economy would rebound in 2021 -- and an overwhelming 98% intend to begin rehiring in the new year. But in order to do that, first they need to make sure they can stay afloat until the economic recovery begins.

Helping Entrepreneurs Build Back, a highlight of Global Entrepreneurship Week, will explore the needs of entrepreneurs and small business owners and look at the different types of resources currently available to entrepreneurs. In doing so, it will take a closer look at the KKR Small Business Builders program which supports companies through: Access to Capital, Technical Expertise and a global Network of Support.
