During one week each November, thousands of events and competitions in 170 countries inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors. Powered by the Kauffman Foundation, the initiative is supported by dozens of world leaders and a network of more than 15,000 partner organizations. GEW is held November 13-19, 2017.
EDGE stands for Empower, Develop and Groom Entrepreneurs. Singapore’s National Youth Entrepreneurship Community, a non-profit organisation and ground-up initiative led by youth volunteers (non-paid) in Singapore's Startup Ecosystem Hub. Supported by ACE and SPRING Singapore.
EDGE started in 2015 with a conglomerate of student representatives from all Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) who are keenly involved in the entrepreneurial scene. Officially Launched in March 2016 by Minister Dr Koh Poh Koon, EDGE aims to rally the schools together to promote youth entrepreneurship and empower aspiring young entrepreneurs on a national level through knowledge-sharing events.
Mission: Entrepreneurship as a Career Path
To promote awareness of and henceforth inspire youth entrepreneurship on a national level. This is achieved by sharing knowledge and experiences through events, activities, workshops, and tapping on current resources available.
To be the go-to community for youth entrepreneurs in Singapore, by creating an effective ecosystem which empowers and nurture youths to become entrepreneurs.
