By leveraging this government partnership, Kyrgyzstan’s young startup sector will raise awareness among key communities of the positive effects of entrepreneurial activity, specifically in the burgeoning tourism industry, in Kyrgyzstan, a developing country rife with corruption and red tape.

This initiative represents private sector startup and government cooperation with official Department of Tourism partnership and support. This partnership, with KG Labs, indicates one of the first official publicized government partnerships ever with the startup sector.
Private sector implementing partners, or other involvement:
KG Labs, the Bishkek IT Developer Group, several local universities, a new co-working space, and a new acceleration program are the current private sector implementing partners for this initiative.
Policy immediate target(s):
Online tourism platforms, tourism companies, eco-tourism, community leaders, community organizations.
Number of publicized events, hackathons, competitions, and number of local and international partners.
The number of new business ideas, working prototypes, and full-fledged businesses launched during this campaign will also be an indicator of success.
This is a new partnership with the first hackathon planned for June of 2016.
Since this partnership has just been formalized we will be monitoring the progress and will be ready to report on any challenges, criticisms and lessons for the future at the end of 2016.
