The FIRST and ONLY high school student led downtown county-wide Entrepreneurial Tailgate in the World will introduce residents, business owners and the youth of Chase County to entrepreneurship through a community event centered around understanding, creating and cultivating the entrepreneurial mindset.
The two-hour educational and networking tailgate will inspire participants to envision the endless opportunities that grow from cultivating a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The event will be held along our downtown business/entertainment district and will feature the promotion of "Who Owns the Ice House? Eight Life Lessons from an Unlikely Entrepreneur" by Clifton Taulbert and Gary Schoeniger, with books being awarded to participants of the entrepreneur scavenger hunt.
We will celebrate our junior/senior high school student's attendance at the Future Business Leaders of America fall conference in Denver with a video highlighting their experiences.
The FBLA and business class students will engage local entrepreneurs of all ages, inviting them to set up booths with materials related to their business, and tailgaters of all ages will find new business resources and hear more about the Third Annual Chase County Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge, made possible by our e-community partnership with NetWork Kansas.
The event will also include an introduction to the "Who Owns the Ice House" audio book via the Chase County Chamber of Commerce sound system, tailgate food and business themed games.
Local, independently-owned businesses will be presented "bright" appreciation gifts in the days leading up to the event, creating a week long atmosphere of education, resources and fun.
