Join the City of Mesa, Mesa Arts Center’s Creative Catalysts and Arizona State University Entrepreneurship + Innovation for a panel of local experts and creative entrepreneurs as they share thoughts regarding their entrepreneurial journeys, the development of a creative economy, forming value around their work, and narratives surrounding how we think about art.
With over five million Americans working in the arts and culture industry, the creative economy is increasing exponentially across the country. City Lab recently identified Mesa, Arizona as number three in a list of top 10 cities that are leading in the development of a creative economy.
Though we tend to view art through social and cultural lenses, recent research from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and the National Endowment of the Arts reveals that the arts contribute over $800 billion a year to the U.S. economy. The arts are more than a source of enrichment — they are a key economic investment.
Our Mesa event will highlight creative entrepreneur champions, provide learning and engagement opportunities, and promote connectivity and community through the creative economy. This event is hosted through a collaboration between the City of Mesa, Creative Catalysts and Arizona State University Entrepreneurship + Innovation in honor of Global Entrepreneurship Week. It takes place on November 21 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Mesa Arts Center.
Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrates the innovators whose startups drive local economies and community development; inspires people around the world with activities that help them explore their potential; and fosters inclusion for individuals and communities who have traditionally faced barriers to entrepreneurship.
