OVERVIEW

A prominent food stylist and recipe developer turned entrepreneur shares how a passion in the kitchen turned into profit on camera!

Food Stylist and Recipe Developer, Shanika Graham-White, will share her entrepreneurial journey of how a passion in the kitchen turned into profit on camera. From partnering with some of the biggest food brands in the world to her recent feature in the October issue of Food Network Magazine, Shanika will provide expertise on expanding your vision without losing your vantage point.

Shanika affectionately calls herself the kitchen ‘ninja’ and connoisseur of interior decorating (hence her passion for beautifully staged food photos). She is a self-taught cook | baker, who has also partnered with top brands (Navitas Organics, Bob's Red Mill, So Delicious Dairy-Free, Organic Valley, + more) to be the source for comfort food and sweets, with a healthy twist. She desires to help others turn the ‘little’ that they have into something magical---great food! On her blog, Orchids + Sweet Tea, you will find dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan versions of your old and new favorites! She’s was recently honored with a feature in Food Network's October Issue as a Food Stylist, a Recipe Contributor for Food52 + Vitacost, and included in several Recipe Roundups on Huffington Post, PARADE, THE EVERYGIRL, SELF Magazine, FeedFeed, + more. Curious about the recipe behind her inspiration? Well, after the birth of her son, she began experimenting more with cooking and stumbled upon a real passion for food creation and thus Orchids + Sweet Tea was born. Shortly after the start of Orchids + Sweet Tea (and during her Postpartum Journey), she realized that her body could no longer successfully digest dairy and gluten at its best level. One of the evidences seemed to link to consistent, monthly, ovarian cysts and endometriosis symptoms (due to hormonal imbalances) that often were draining and painful to suffer through for most of the month. This went on for a total of almost two years. Countless Doctor visits resulted in no solution and while she felt down and out, she continued to lean on her Faith in God to heal naturally and finally decided to do her part in the process by using her new diet as a way of healing.
