Alaa Alazem was one of the first females to study finance, a field that is very dominant by males in Syria, and to become one of the top performing Finance & Business Consultants and Trainers with a demonstrable record of achievements within several SME's & corporations operating in pivotal roles in support of the financial function and the smooth running of the business. Also she is a social leader and entrepreneur demonstrated in volunteering at JCI Damascus - Syria to set down and run successful community projects. In 2007, she was the first project director in Syria to launch Best Business Plan Competition, an initiative organized by JCI Syria to promote entrepreneurship for the first time in Syria. In 2016, Alaa was assigned the National Director of Peace is Possible Campaign, where she empowered more than 100 members to organize 16 local peace initiatives. Alaa has also accumulated five years of experience in providing interactive training in Entrepreneurship, Financial Analysis, Budgeting, Public Speaking, Debating, and Leadership. She trained tens of entrepreneurs in micro-financing & Entrepreneurship programs through several NGO's in Syria (GOPA, JCI, ICT, Takween, Shabab, etc.). She also has mentored several entrepreneurs and contributed directly to the launching of their businesses. In 2017, Alaa was assigned as a team leader for a team of experts who produced a Mentoring Toolkit for Spark Yemen. Holds MSc in Financial Management from Heriot Watt University, Scotland; and BSc in Finance from American University of Sharjah, UAE.
