Ms. Cristina Santamaría is currently Assistant Deputy Director for SMEs, Ministry of Economy, Industry & Competitiveness.
From 2015 to 2017, she was the Economic & Commercial Counsellor of the Spanish Embassy in Egypt covering also Ethiopia, Sudan and Djibouti. Previously from 2011 to 2015 she was the Economic & Commercial Counsellor of the Spanish Embassy in Kazakhstan covering also Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
From 2009 to 2011, she worked at the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce in the Department of Bilateral Trade Relations with Europe, Russia and CIS countries and in the Department of European Union Bilateral Trade Relations with EUROMED and Russia/ CIS countries.
Prior to this, she worked as Delegate in Brazil for CDTI-Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness); in China (Shanghai) and the Philippines as trade advisor for ICEX Spain Trade and Investment and Puerto Rico/Brazil as Consultant in Banking services for Accenture.
She holds a Master Degree in International Business Administration (Int’l M.B.A.) at Industrial Organization School (E.O.I) and Superior Technical Forestry Engineering and Natural Resources (Six years Master Degree). She is a member of the Commercial and Economic Technical Personnel Organization of the Spanish Government, a body of high-level officials.
