SABIC Background
Having been founded in 2013 by Mr. Volchere Kgekwane, the South African Black Industrialists Council (SABIC) is a program-based organization that is affiliated to the National Black Business Caucus (NBBC). Our purpose is to initiate a complete paradigm shift amongst the Black Owned Businesses (BOB) in these two key pillars, 1) To build a sustainable value chain of BOB’s. 2) To learn to build our businesses utilizing a collective economics of scale to bulk buy what we need to reach our business goals.
As SABIC we further focus on the monitoring and enforcement of high standards of excellence, as we do not believe in gaining access to mainstream Economy only as a BBBEE quota. We believe in corporates recognizing the skill of B.O.B’s by allowing them a fair chance to participate with out prejudice.
Our Mission
Our mission as SABIC is to make sure that this whole topic of black economic empowerment seizes to just be a talking point and becomes a reality. We achieve this by relentlessly promoting black-to-black trade throughout Africa and beyond, in banking, insurance and retail. Not just buying from a BOB as a supplier but by also making sure that the BOB supplier purchased the goods from a manufacturer who is a BOB, who also purchased the raw materials from a BOB. Teach our people to buy black.
Our Vision
To empower BOBs from all sectors to become conglomerates that research & Develop innovatively, manufacture and can be able to produce more than 80% locally to export to the rest of Africa and beyond, all this under strong, purposeful leadership and support of the professionally run SABIC.
