Bio

Lead for SME Policy and the Business Basics Programme at the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

In my SME Policy role, I am focused on shaping cross-government policies which impact on small and medium sized businesses, such as tax digitisation, regulation and government procurement.

I also lead the Business Basics Programme, which is focused on testing innovative ways of encouraging SMEs to adopt existing management practices or technologies that we know can make them more productive. The programme is funding a series of trials across England looking at the diffusion of technology and management practices.
