Theme: ECOSYSTEMS | #GEW2020 #Ecosystems 

The Global Entrepreneurship Network and other entrepreneurship support organizations around the world are looking beyond Silicon Valley to facilitate collaboration and partnership between startup ecosystems in promising mid-tier cities. Sharing knowledge and connecting local ecosystem leaders has become increasingly important in building healthy and thriving entrepreneurial communities.

GEW Ecosystems aims to inspire communities to collaborate, and share their networks and markets to help their rising startups thrive. This theme celebrates the shared challenges and triumphs of entrepreneurship communities and hubs around the world

Local Theme: Building sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem

From this 1st time in Comoros, we will take this opportunity to officially launch the Global Entrepreneurship Network in the Union of the Comoros through the celebration of the Global Entrepreneurship Week.

On November 24, 2020, we are organizing a day dedicated to the establishment of an inclusive dialogue bringing together all the stakeholders working around entrepreneurship in the Comoros, in particular: entrepreneurs, incubators, coworking spaces, business angels, banks, private and public sector, and development partners.

Goals:

  • Mapping of all the actors working in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Establishment of a common platform for exchange between the different actors.
  • Discuss the different opportunities and challenges that facing the ecosystem.
  • Share the stories of different entrepreneurs.

Process:  For the realization of this goals, we organize conference and workshop:

09am – 10.30pm Conference: During 1 hour 30 minutes, it will bring together in a panel, seven actors’ representatives of the different stakeholders of the Comorian entrepreneurial ecosystem with an international GEN Speaker specialist on Building an Ecosystem and such a representative audience to discuss the theme: How to set up an entrepreneurial ecosystem united and sustainable.

11am – 12pm Workshop: This is about brainstorming with the high levels’ representatives working on a roadmap outlining the means and needs necessary for the implementation of this ecosystem.

Results: At the end of this work, we expect to release as a result:

  • Effective and official launch of GEN in Comoros
  • A physical and virtual awareness is carried out, of more than 500 young people on the importance of the establishment of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Comoros.
  • A mapping of the entrepreneurial ecosystem detailing the entrepreneurship actors and their roles on the entrepreneur journey is developed.
  • A roadmap for the establishment of a virtual platform for a structural dialogue between entrepreneurial actors is drawn up
