COPERNICUS: TRANSFORMING DATA INTO VALUE. BENEFITS FOR THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS

The aim of the webinar is to hint at the Copernicus program, to indicate the enormous potential it offers in terms of job creation, innovation and growth, or economic, social and environmental benefits.

All European citizens, from policy makers to researchers, from private to commercial users, as well as the world scientific community, can, in fact, benefit in many ways from the data and information provided by the program. Through a myriad of its applications, it is possible to have significant increases on the activities and operations, ordinary and extraordinary, of companies and organizations.

The session speakers will illustrate these various aspects and two typical cases of data use will be shown: one by an important body such as the Ispra Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research. The other case, by the SenSe Square company that deals commercially with environmental data from Copernicus.
