Bermuda Island Games Video Game Design Challenge

This 2-day event brings together students, hobbyists, and aspiring game developers from across Bermuda to learn, design, and create their own video games in a single weekend. Each year, participants are presented with a secret theme revealed at the start of the event, challenging teams to design innovative and creative games that align with it. 

This year’s tagline, “Create Your Own Game in a Weekend!”, highlights the event’s focus on creativity, teamwork, and practical learning. Founder Adrian Lodge shared, 

“The goal of the Challenge is to inspire Bermuda’s youth to explore the world of game design and technology. We want to show that games are not just for entertainment—they’re also a powerful way to learn coding, design, and storytelling skills that can lead to real careers.” 

The event also emphasizes education and youth development, offering opportunities for participants to engage with mentors and learn about modern game development tools using Artificial Intelligence.
