UK Export Finance Meeting with BDA and BEDC

A UKEF delegation is meeting with BEDC to discuss synergies and meaningful opportunities for collaboration including:

  • Supporting Bermudian businesses seeking to partner with or source from UK firms, backed by UKEF financing;
  • Co-developing projects in sustainable finance, infrastructure, and digital innovation; and
  • Exploring case studies such as UKEF’s partnerships in the Caribbean and Africa, where similar development agencies have leveraged UKEF support to attract investment and stimulate SME growth.

 

The meeting will explore how UKEF’s tools and experience can complement BEDC’s mission to empower local enterprises and expand Bermuda’s international trade and investment links. mission is to ensure that no viable UK export fails for lack of finance or insurance. The agency works alongside the UK Department for Business and Trade to help UK companies win, deliver, and get paid for international contracts by providing:

  • Export credit guarantees for overseas buyers purchasing from UK suppliers;
  • Insurance against non-payment for UK exporters; and
  • Working capital and bond support to help businesses fulfil export contracts.

 

UKEF operates globally, supporting projects in sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, healthcare, financial services, and technology—areas that also align with Bermuda’s economic development priorities.
