Mefou et Akono Kicks Off Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025

The 2025 Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is in full swing in the Mefou et Akono Division, bringing together entrepreneurs, students, and local stakeholders to celebrate innovation and the spirit of enterprise.

Since Tuesday, a series of engaging activities have been planned to showcase the region’s entrepreneurial potential and inspire young innovators:

  • Visits to several SMEs in Akono, offering participants insight into daily operations, management practices, and growth strategies.

  • A tour of Ngoumou town center, highlighting local markets, businesses, and opportunities for entrepreneurship development.

  • Meetings at the Saint Martin Foundation in Otele, focusing on sustainable initiatives such as the “Water is Life” program.

  • Creation and installation of the Ngoumou SAR/SM Entrepreneurial Club, designed to cultivate entrepreneurial thinking and project development among youth and community members.

These activities provide a practical and immersive experience for participants, emphasizing that entrepreneurship is not only about business creation but also about innovation, problem-solving, and social impact.

The celebrations will continue tomorrow in Mbankomo, where more events are scheduled to further encourage creativity, innovation, and networking among entrepreneurs and young people.

The GEW in Mefou et Akono underscores the national vision of empowering youth, promoting self-employment, and building an entrepreneurial ecosystem that contributes to Cameroon’s sustainable economic growth.

Through these initiatives, the region is setting a strong example of how local communities can nurture talent, foster innovation, and create opportunities for the next generation of entrepreneurs.
