First Pan-European IP Competition for Youth by JA Europe and EUIPO

Put your IP knowledge to the test!

Ideas can change the world — but do you know how to protect them?

From the brands we recognise to the videos we share and the inventions that shape our future, intellectual property (IP) plays an important role in everyday life. Understanding IP helps young people recognise the value of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.

To celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026, JA Europe and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) are launching the First Pan-European IP Competition for Youth — an interactive Kahoot! challenge inviting young people across Europe to explore intellectual property in a fun and engaging way.

What will you discover?

Test your knowledge of:

  • Trade marks: How brands, names and logos are protected.
  • Copyright: How creative works, including videos, music and digital content, are protected.
  • Patents: How new inventions can receive legal protection.
  • Designs: How the appearance of products can be protected.

Whether you are already familiar with intellectual property or discovering it for the first time, this competition is an opportunity to learn something new, challenge yourself and explore how IP supports creativity and innovation.

How does it work?

The competition is self-paced and open from 16 to 22 November 2026, so you can participate at a time that suits you during the competition week.

  1. Register online using the registration form.
  2. Check your email for the competition instructions and Kahoot! access link.
  3. Play during competition week and answer questions about intellectual property.
  4. Challenge yourself and discover how much you know about protecting creativity and innovation.

There is no fixed live session — you can take part at your convenience throughout the competition period.

Ready to take the challenge?

Join young people from across Europe during Global Entrepreneurship Week and put your IP knowledge to the test!
