How does the program work?

Blue Growth is aiming to inspire and help young entrepreneurs realize the innovative concepts relating to marine and freshwater resources. Creative disruption in the maritime sector can introduce promising business opportunities, create new jobs, and transform traditional processes into more productive and sustainable activities.

Blue Growth is the long term strategy to support sustainable growth in the marine and maritime sectors as a whole. Seas and oceans are drivers for the European economy and have great potential for innovation and growth. It is the maritime contribution to achieving the goals of the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.

BlueGrowth’s vision is to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs to  create sustainable economic, social, and environmental growth in the maritime sector 

BlueGrowth’s Mission is to enable, equip, and educate nascent entrepreneurs, through collaboration with the Maritime Industry and Research community.

Monitoring + Evaluation Methods
  • More that 700 people attending BG events in Greece since 2014.
  • 40 projects were incubated by the Aephoria.net incubation programme.
  • 20 projects successfully established on the market.
  • 9+ products and services developed by the academic community and commercialized by the specific industry
