Global Entrepreneurship Week Brunei 2014

“THROUGH this initiative, the nation has joined over 130 countries worldwide in celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW),” stated Abdul Malik Omar, President of Brunei Enterprise, yesterday in his opening remarks before formally launching the UK-based movement for the first time in Brunei at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
According to a statement, GEW is an initiative funded and supported by the US-Based Kauffman Foundation with the objective to celebrate entrepreneurship globally and annually in the third week of November.
Abdul Malik Omar also gave a talk on a subject titled “Brunei Inc”.
He shared his thoughts on how to improve the economic and business environment of the nation to achieve Vision 2035.
Stakeholders who took part in the event included representatives from Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and iCentre, local businessmen, and students from Institut Teknologi Brunei and Brunei Polytechnic.
According to a statement, Brunei Enterprise is a society founded in the United Kingdom (UK) with the aim of promoting youth progress in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.
