GEW Hits Headlines in Bulgaria

Global Entrepreneurship Week starts in Bulgaria with educational events in the whole country. The initiative which is organized by Junior Achievement Bulgaria includes 160 events in 50 different regions in the country.

During the Global Entrepreneurship Week, innovation camps and open classes will be organized in more than 100 schools. More than 5,000 students are expected to take part in the initiatives which are focused on creativity, innovations and creative transformation of our surroundings. 90 business consultants will be helping the students in the process of solving a business case and they will be also taking part in the preparation and realization of the open classes.

“With every year Junior Achievement Bulgaria is aiming to develop its educational programs further and to help more young people, by delivering them knowledge in the economic and entrepreneurship area”, Milena Stoycheva, CEO of Junior Achievement Bulgaria, said. “For us it is a huge honor that more parents are signing their children up for our programs, understanding the importance of the business education from an early age”, Stoycheva added.

Junior Achievement Bulgaria is hosting Global Entrepreneurship Week in Bulgaria for the seventh year in a row. During this week, millions of young people all over the world will take part in initiatives, which stimulate entrepreneurship thinking and behavior, creating new ideas and searching for new opportunities for development.

EvriDika! Entrepreneurship education! (November 18, 2014)

Junior Achievement Bulgaria and the Human Resources Development Center unite efforts with the aim to stimulate the development of the educational system in Bulgaria. The forum will gather teachers from the whole country and in the spirit of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, the event will end with a workshop – an Innovation camp in which the teachers will have to suggest options how to improve the entrepreneurship educational environment in Bulgarian schools.

Education and business – a Norwegian Embassy Forum (November 20, 2014)

The forum “Education and business” which will take place in 20 November 2014 is the event during the Global Entrepreneurship Week which will present the Norwegian experience in the process of developing the creativity and innovation skills of students. The event is organized by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bulgaria. Upon an invitation from the organizers, the CEO of JAB Milena Stoycheva will be moderator of the event and the Operations Director Vera Petkantchin will present the project “Green entrepreneurship for sustainable development” which is implemented by Junior Achievement Bulgaria with the partnership of the Norwegian Ungt Entreprenorskap Sogn og Fjordane.

Apart from that, Bulgaria participated in the Future Agro Challenge and sent a finalist to Athens. A GEI event will also be organized in the aftermath of GEW – the expected date is in the beginning of December, with strong interest on part of America for Bulgaria Foundation, the US Embassy and other institutions already contributing to shaping up the event.
