 WAZOBIA CULTURAL AWARENESS 2025 – ACTIVITY LINEUP

Target Audience: Children (Ages 5–15)
1 Opening Ceremony & Cultural Welcome
•    A vibrant entrance featuring drummers, dancers, and traditional greeters.
•    Short speeches from community leaders and cultural ambassadors.
2 Storytelling & Folktales – “Once Upon a Wazobia”
•    Engaging folktale sessions led by experienced storytellers.
•    Stories from different Nigerian cultures to teach morals and history.
•    Interactive Q&A with the children.
3️Traditional Music & Dance Workshop
•    Hands-on drumming lessons using talking drums, bata, and sekere.
•    Dance tutorials for popular cultural dances like Egwu Amala, Bata, Swange, and Ekombi.
•    Kids’ dance competition with fun prizes.
4️Arts & Crafts – “Little Hands, Big Culture”
•    Bead-making, tie-dye (adire), and pottery painting.
•    Kids get to design and take home their creations!
5️ Fashion Parade – “Dressing the Wazobia Way”
•    A showcase of traditional outfits from the three major Nigerian ethnic groups and beyond.
•    Kids can dress up in Agbada, Isi Agu, Ankara, Buba & Wrapper, and Hausa Babban Riga.
•    Mini runways show with prizes for creativity.
6️Language & Cultural Identity Session
•    Fun crash courses in Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa greetings & phrases.
•    Role-playing scenarios to practice conversations.
•    Quiz games with small rewards!
7️ Taste of Wazobia – Mini Food Festival
•    A tasting session of popular Nigerian delicacies:
o    Jollof rice, puff-puff, moi-moi, suya, and akara.
•    Kids learn the history behind each dish.
8️Traditional Games & Competitions
•    Ayo (Yoruba board game), Ten-Ten, Suwe (hopscotch), and wrestling demos.
•    Group challenges for teamwork and prizes.
9️ Grand Finale – Cultural Showcase & Campfire Stories
•    Kids perform dances, songs, or skits based on what they learned.
•    Closing remarks & recognition of all participants.
•    A heartwarming campfire storytelling session to wrap up the day.
