Celebrating Entrepreneurship Through YLAI

The entire month of November is being celebrated as St. Lucia Business Month under the theme “Promoting an Entrepreneurial Culture — Innovation and Creativity”.

I decided to capitalize on this by making my own contribution to the observance of both Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) and St. Lucia Business Month by writing a series of articles on medium, and publishing interview videos on my company Facebook page, featuring YLAI Alumni of 2016 & 2017, and other Entrepreneurs who have made their mark either by winning certain competitions, achieving certain levels of success, or showing moments of resilience. The first episode of the video interview aired on Wednesday November 22nd 2017. These interview video features can be viewed on the event page here. I’m encouraging persons to ‘like’ my company Facebook page in order to keep informed of next episodes and other updates regarding our services and events.

The video features will air twice each month, leading up to the month of April, when the application period for YLAI 2018 opens. This will serve as a reminder to St. Lucian Entrepreneurs between the ages of 21 to 35 years, to prepare themselves to take part in, and to apply for the program.

Showing their full support of this collaborative initiative, Meridian International Center is the implementer of the YLAI Program and their new YLAI TV video and jingle will be featured in all of our interview video features. I would like to say a special thank you to the Meridian team, for showing their support and I pray that many more efforts geared towards promoting the YLAI program and other opportunities open to Entrepreneurs here in St. Lucia, will be given equal support as well. I am also looking forward to getting support in the near future from the U.S. Department of State which funds the YLAI Program, and the U.S. Embassy in Barbados which helps to drive the YLAI Program in its region.

Also in the pipeline, the YLAI Cohort from St. Lucia which includes me, also have plans to raise an awareness for the YLAI Program in St. Lucia, thereby introducing St. Lucian Entrepreneurs, to the tools necessary for them to ready themselves for the YLAI life and the benefits involved. So be on the lookout for us to find out what we have in store.
