In Ecuador, November has become a very special month to inspire the new generations of leaders that are creating opportunities and solutions to live in a better country.
In 2012, the 141 partners that organized 322 activities in 35 different cities of the 24 provinces of the country, reached a remarkable number of participants being exposed to the most important entrepreneurship event in the world; 111,955 participants!
Science, technology, innovation, social entrepreneurship and international collaboration were some of the main topics covered in GEW/Ecuador 2012. The activities were of major impact to society and offered a lot of diverse options in the different cities of Ecuador.
Through ought the years, the evolution of GEW in our country has raised the bar pretty high for the different events and activities. The one-way Speeches and Conferences have turned into Intellectual Conversations and Mentorships with successful entrepreneurs. A great example of this is Coffee with Experts in the II Ecuadorian Entrepreneur Encounter, where Beatriz de Plaza, Ricardo Koening and many other experts, offered their knowledge to the new leaders. The Fairs have transformed into collaborative events between countries like the Entrepreneurship and Integration Fair in Sucumbíos, where Ecuadorian and Colombian entrepreneurs along with Fair Commerce Organizations, participated. The Workshops and Forums have changed into interactive, virtual, renovated events where participants learn through fun and networking like First Tuesday, the Hackathon from Entrepreneur Day or the GEW Gymkana from the PUCESE.
In addition, the international collaborations are increasing in the different events. To mention a few, Roberto Urbieta from GEW Paraguay recorded a message for GEW in AMCHAM Cuenca, the videoconferences from speakers like: Sonia González Banchón from InfoEmprende, Mara Lara of Pulso Social, Ricardo Arriagada from ProChile, Patricia Jo Terrack from Green Business, among others.
There was a 140% increase in the number of people that were able to enjoy the different activities around Ecuador, compared to last year. This increase would have not been able to achieve without the constant, hard and smart work from our partners that each year show their support so as to carry on with this entrepreneurial celebration.
Global Entrepreneurship Week in Ecuador has become an unstoppable force. The foundations are now set to welcome the Board, and we have no doubt that with them we will boost our growth and excel our expectations for the years to come!

Una fuerza imparable que ha sentado las bases
En Ecuador Noviembre se ha convertido en un mes especial para inspirar a la nueva generación de líderes que están creando las oportunidades y soluciones para vivir en un país mejor.
En el 2012, 141 aliados que organizaron 322 actividades en 35 ciudades de las 24 provincias de nuestro país han logrado que el número de ecuatorianos conectados al más importante evento de emprendimiento del mundo sea de 111.955 personas!
La ciencia, tecnología, innovación, el emprendimiento social y la colaboración internacional fueron estandartes de la temática en los eventos de GEW Ecuador 2012. Las actividades que se realizaron fueron de mayor impacto para la sociedad y ofrecieron diversidad de opciones en diferentes ciudades del Ecuador.
La evolución de la SGE en nuestro país ha logrado que los eventos sean más competitivos. Las Charlas y Conferencias unidireccionales se han convertido en conversatorios y mentorías con Emprendedores Exitosos, como en Café con Expertos del II Encuentro de Emprendedores Ecuatorianos, donde Beatriz de Plaza, Ricardo Koening, entre otros, ofrecieron sus conocimientos a los nuevos líderes. Las Ferias se han transformado en eventos de colaboración entre países, como la Feria de Emprendimiento e Integración en Sucumbíos, donde participaron emprendedores y Organizaciones de Comercio Justo de Ecuador y Colombia. Los Talleres y Foros cambian para convertirse en eventos interactivos, virtuales, renovados, donde los asistentes aprenden divirtiéndose y el networking es la clave, como en First Tuesday, el Hackathon de Entrepreneur Day o la Gincana Emprendedora de la Semana Global del Emprendimiento de PUCESE.
Además se multiplican las colaboraciones internacionales en los eventos como el mensaje de Roberto Urbieta de GEW Paraguay en la SGE de AMCHAM Cuenca, las videoconferencias de expositores como: Sonia González Banchón de InfoEmprende, Mara Lara de Pulso Social, Ricardo Arriagada de ProChile, Patricia Jo Terrack de Green Business, entre otros.
El aumento porcentual con respecto al año anterior en el número de personas que pudieron disfrutar de los eventos que se desarrollaron en el territorio ecuatoriano fue de 140%. Este incremento no habría podido conseguirse sin el trabajo constante de nuestros aliados que cada año nos apoyan para que la fiesta del emprendimiento se sienta con fuerza.
Global Entrepreneurship Week en Ecuador se ha convertido en una fuerza imparable. Las bases están sentadas para que se de la bienvenida al Board. Tendremos metas más desafiantes y las superaremos!
