South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences – Xamk is the host organization of GEW in Finland. Xamk is an institute of higher education, which focuses on wellbeing, technology and creative industries. Xamk is the 5th largest university of applied sciences in Finland. We provide education in eight fields of study and we have campuses in four towns: Kotka, Kouvola, Mikkeli and Savonlinna.
Together with all four campuses, we are organizing over 40 events during the GEW. The events are for both students and entrepreneurs, but also for all the people interested in the topic. All the events are in our websites.
The week starts with international entrepreneurship fair in Mikkeli’s campus. Xamk’s international and exchange students are presenting their own countries in entrepreneurship and business point of view.
On Tuesday there is two different workshops in Kouvola’s campus. One of the workshop is about selfbranding and the another one is about digitality and logistics. On Kotka’s campus, the day is about networking.
On Wednesday 40 Xamk’s students are going to two-day nationwide innovation competition. Innovate or die –competition is for all the students who are innovative and want to compete with other. The winning team wins 1000 euros. For those who are not going to the competition, there is events about internationalization, student entrepreneurship and inspiration on the campuses on Kotka and Kouvola. In Mikkeli there is student’s JA-camp in Saimaa Stadiumi.
On Thursday morning there is breakfast event about digitalization in Saimaa Stadiumi, Mikkeli. In Mikkeli they are also celebrating International Mikkeli day. During the day you can get to know the different cultures and see amazing music and dance performances. On Thursday and Friday there will be sales and marketing themede Recruitment Fair on Kouvola’s campus. As a keynote speaker is Finland's leading sales trainer Mika D. Rubanovitsch on Friday. Mr. Rubanovitsch tells concrete examples how the successful team-work of sales and marketing is being made today and in the future.
On Friday there will be success stories and stories about entrepreneurship in the campuses of Kotka and Mikkeli. On Kotka, there will be also an innovation workshop.
As you can see, there is lots of happening in Xamk’s campuses during the GEW week. Besides Xamk’s events, GEW events are taking place also in Jämsä, Turku, Helsinki, Savonlinna and Seinäjoki.
