This November, Helsinki is the place for startups.
After months of hard work, GEW Finland’s Kick off panel discussion took place yesterday withMarko Rosenholm from Helsinki Think Company, Jaakko Blomberg from Demos Helsinki, Oleg Podsechin from StartHQ and Kari Aalto from the Pop-up Company. All had some great quotes from the panel.
Approximately 1000 companies and 500 investors attended Europe’s biggest startup event “Slush” in Helsinki last week and now PitchHelsinki comes next on November 20. What is unique about this event is the live crowdfunding part. For the first time in the world, Helsinki will combine startup pitches with live crowdfunding opportunities on a global scale and stream it live.
PitchHelsinki will be bringing ambitious Finnish startups on stage and give everyone with access to internet a chance to invest in these companies right there and then. The funding rounds will be open on November 20 for the whole day. Investors will have an opportunity to invest in these startups with a special valuation via Invesdor’s crowdfunding online service. Information on the pitching companies can be found on PitchHelsinki and Invesdor websites.
PitchHelsinki is organized by Enterprise Helsinki, a service center for entrepreneurs in Helsinki and the City of Helsinki in collaboration with Aalto University’s Aalto Start-Up Center, Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN) and Invesdor Oy. The event has a capacity for 300 participants of investors, entrepreneurs, and collaborators of the startup ecosystem. It is the world’s first equity based crowdfunding event that will be live streamed around the world.
