Indiana Ecosystem Tour: Building an Innovation District from the Ground Up

Spend your day exploring the 16 Tech Innovation District, an emerging district for innovation and entrepreneurship. Indy’s nexus for talent, research, and industry opened in 2021 and is now home to three innovation facilities, 200 companies,  and more than 1000 employees. With strengths in the life sciences and advanced manufacturing, the 50-acre district has a robust biosciences pipeline with Heartland BioWorks and IU LAB set to open in 2027. 

On this tour, participants will gain an understanding of how the 501(c)3 16 Tech Community Corporation built the District from the ground up, growing not only the place, but also its programming, ensuring that community engagement is at the core of its values.

About Ecosystem Tours

• We’ve highlighted the audiences each tour is primarily designed for, but anyone is welcome on any tour.
• Transportation is provided from start to finish for each tour via executive coach, which is not accessible.
• While we recognize that many attendees may be interested in participating in more than one tour, tours are all day with no ability to join in progress, so participants are only able to sign up for one tour.
• Participants will receive more details and a full agenda a week prior.
