The German Startup Green City Solutions won the German national final of the international competition Creative Business Cup and will represent Germany in the international finals in Copenhagen on November 20/21.
Founded in 2014, Green City Solutions developed the "City Tree" – a free-standing unit of 12 squaremeters, which is planted with a special moss and grasses and sustainably cleans the air in a radius of up to 50 meters. The jury emphasized in particular the symbiosis of an innovative, biotechnological development and a creative approach, with which Green City Solutions wants to make an impact on the global problem of air pollution with a focus on urban areas.
The four member development team of Green City Solutions has its expertise within the fields of architecture, engineering, IT, finance and horticulture. The team has already won several awards and has been able to place the "City Tree" in several European cities and in Hong Kong.
Within the framework of the “Gründerwoche Deutschland” (Entrepreneurship Week Germany), Germany is now for the fifth time participating in the Creative Business Cup, which takes place as part of the international Global Entrepreneurship Week. The German preliminary decision was organized by RKW/ German Center for Productivity and Innovation, that coordinates the campaign (Entrepreneurship Week Germany) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi).
