Girls Entreprenureship Summit GES

Girls Entrepreneurship Summit is an annual event for young girls aged 13-19. This is a two-day event where the female participants will build innovations for social & economic change and learn how to bring and pitch an innovative idea. The summit addresses and serves the need for inspiration and motivation for young girls to change the world. Prior to the summit, students in 10 secondary schools (both public and private) will be asked to create teams of less than 6 members in their respective schools, these teams will spend two months working on a given challenge to develop business solutions. These teams will later attend an information workshop to get more details about the challenges and a hands on training on innovating with Data and using design thinking concepts for idea generation. The solutions created can either be a business or social concept.

Business concept: Ideas whose primary objective is to solve a customer's problem that by doing so will generate revenue and profit.

Social Concept: Ideas whose Primary objective is to solve a social problem and make a positive impact on people or the environment but have a clear sustainability model.

The teams will spend two months working on their ideas ie. idea generation, and conducting a few research activities for their ideas using design thinking concepts. These student ideas are supported through the two months before the summit by dedicated mentors and their teachers in idea generation and to articulate their value proposition, validate their product/service with potential customers, estimate financial performance and finally prepare to present to a panel of judges during the summit.

Day one of the summit the teams are trained how to use the business canvas model and to pitch their ideas.
