On November 18, 2023, The Gambia hosted the transformative Global Entrepreneurship Hackathon 2023, a virtual collaboration between Gambia Tech, Global Entrepreneurship Network Gambia, Jokkolabs Banjul, Enterprise Gambia LTD, and The Hub LTD. Aligned with Global Entrepreneurship Week, this event brought together diverse minds—entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts, policymakers, and experts—to foster innovation in pivotal sectors: #health, #education, #agriculture, and #civictech.

Four (4) standout teams pitched groundbreaking ideas, showcasing the depth of entrepreneurial talent in The Gambia.

A standout feature of the event was the engaging workshop led by Assim Ishaque, an Investor, Speaker, Business Coach, Entrepreneur, and Inventor. Aasim's exceptional session on "Networking for Millions and Entrepreneurs" not only held the audience captive but also provided invaluable insights into the power of networking for aspiring entrepreneurs. His presentation added a dynamic layer to the entrepreneurial spirit of the day.

Post-event, the winning teams will be engaged in a stimulating roundtable discussion with experts and stakeholders at a later date. This session aims to draft a policy white paper, identifying key industries for support in The Gambia and outlining recommendations for entrepreneurs. Decision-makers will be engaged and explored for implementation strategies, marking a crucial step towards impactful change.
