For the first time, Rising Ideas-Startup Competition, was held in Patras. Rising Ideas is a contest promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. It was held in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week under the auspices of the Hellenic Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Western Greece. The competition aims to highlight and reward innovative entrepreneurial ideas to allow them to grow, become known to the public, and have access to funding.
Those who could participate in the competition include:
- Startup who have been in businesses less than 5 years.
- Companies seeking funding from investors.
- Those who have innovative business ideas that have potential for expansion abroad
The ten winning teams pitched their ideas in front of an audience. The judges were all individuals from the academic and the business world. Others representing investment funds and angel investors also attended this event.
